People throng to see bleeding Marian statue
Tears of blood rolled down the statue of Mother Mary at the Carmelite Mary Immaculate (CMI) Bhavan in Marianagar, Ghaziabad.

Police was called in to control surging crowds gathering to witness a bleeding Marian statue at a Catholic center near Delhi.
Tears of blood rolled down the statue of Mary at the Carmelite Mary Immaculate (CMI) Bhavan in Marianagar, Ghaziabad, the satellite town of New Delhi, attracting Christians and people of other faiths Saturday.
About 65 catholic families that live around the chapel rushed to see the event.
“Within no time the news spread and people started coming to the chapel. Around three thousand people visited the statue by evening. Due to the rush the police had to be called in,” said Brother George CMI.
Sunitha, the maid in the house, was the first to notice the event at 11:30 am when she came to clean the chapel.
“Today when I was about to clean the statue of Mother Mary, I found streams of blood flowing. I could not believe my eyes so I rubbed the blood from the statue but the flow was still there,” she said.
Sunitha said that she started shivering and held the statue. “I felt Mother Mary standing in front of me,” she added.
Fr. Joy Kizhakkayil, the priest in charge of the house, said he saw the maid holding the statue and praying and crying loud to Mother Mary.
Another priest who resides in the house, Fr. Biju Vadakkel said that they have informed the incident to Bishop Francis Kalist of Meerut and he has asked us to keep the statue in due reverence.
Fr. Vadakkel said that the bleeding continued for few hours.
He said that they have also taken the samples of the blood and got it tested at the St. Joseph Hospital nearby.
“The result shows that the blood group is B+ve,” he added.
Another flow of blood was seen Sunday when Fr. Kizhakkayil came to the chapel to offer the holy Mass.
“Now the flow was heavy and the blood was falling on the table where the statue was kept,” he said.
Visitors, who thronged to see the event, kept the rosary on the blood clotted statue and prayed continuously in the chapel.
Brother George said that Hindu families living near the chapel anticipated natural calamities due to the event.
The event took place at the personal chapel of CMI Bhavan where at present a new wing for the Christ College, Bangalore is under construction.
The statue was bought from St. Paul’s Centre, New Delhi few months back.

കോട്ടപ്പുറം രൂപതയിലെ കൂട്ടുകാട്‌ ലിറ്റില്‍ഫ്‌ളവര്‍ ഇടവക തേങ്ങാപ്പുരക്കല്‍ ജോസഫ്‌-ജോസഫീന ദമ്പതികളുടെ മകന്‍ ബിജുവാണ്‌ ഇന്ന്‌ വൈകിട്ട്‌ 3.30 ന്‌ കോട്ടപ്പുറം സെന്റ്‌ മൈക്കിള്‍സ്‌ കത്തീഡ്രലില്‍ ബിഷപ്‌ ഡോ. ജോസഫ്‌ കാരിക്കശേരിയില്‍നിന്ന്‌ പൗരോഹിത്യം സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നത്‌.
ബി.കോം പഠനത്തിനു ശേഷം 1998-ലാണ്‌ ബിജു പോലീസില്‍ ചേരുന്നത്‌. സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ജോലി ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച്‌ വൈദികനാകാന്‍ സെമിനാരിയില്‍ ചേരുമ്പോള്‍ പലരും അത്ഭുതംകൂറി. രണ്ടാമതൊന്നാലോചിക്കാന്‍ പലരും ഉപദേശിച്ചു. ബിജുവിന്റെ നിശ്‌ചയദാര്‍ഢ്യത്തിനു മുമ്പില്‍ ഒന്നും വിലപ്പോയില്ല. എട്ടുവര്‍ഷത്തെ പരിശീലനത്തിനുശേഷം ബിജു വൈദികപട്ടം സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നു.
പോലീസിലായിരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ സ്‌റ്റേറ്റ്‌ റാപ്പിഡ്‌ ആക്ഷന്‍ ഫോഴ്‌സില്‍ ഡെപ്യൂട്ടേഷനില്‍ മലപ്പുറത്തെ നിലമ്പൂരിനടുത്ത്‌ പാണ്ടിക്കാട്‌ സേവനം ചെയ്യുമ്പോഴാണ്‌ ബിജുവിന്റെ ജീവിതം വഴിത്തിരിവിലെത്തിയത്‌.
പോലീസ്‌ ക്യാമ്പിനടുത്ത്‌ എം.എസ്‌.ജെ. സിസേ്‌റ്റഴ്‌സ് നടത്തുന്ന മാനസിക വിഭ്രാന്തിയുള്ള അഗതികള്‍ക്കായുള്ള ആശ്രയകേന്ദ്രത്തിലെ നിത്യസന്ദര്‍ശകനായിരുന്നു ബിജു. അഗതികളെ കുളിപ്പിക്കാനും മുടി വെട്ടിയൊരുക്കാനുമൊക്കെ ഒന്നിടവിട്ടുള്ള അവധി ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ ബിജു സഹായിച്ചിരുന്നു. പുതിയ അനുഭവം ബിജുവിന്റെ ജീവിതം മാറ്റിമറിച്ചു.
എതിര്‍പ്പുകള്‍ വകവയ്‌ക്കാതെ സര്‍ക്കാരുദ്യോഗത്തിന്റെ സുരക്ഷിതത്വമെല്ലാം വെടിഞ്ഞ്‌ ജോലി രാജിവച്ച്‌ 28-ാം വയസില്‍ വൈദിക വിദ്യാര്‍ഥിയായി കോട്ടപ്പുറം രൂപതയുടെ മണലിക്കാടുള്ള സെന്റ്‌ ഫ്രാന്‍സിസ്‌ അസീസി മൈനര്‍ സെമിനാരിയില്‍ ചേര്‍ന്നു.
ആലുവ കാര്‍മല്‍ഗിരി സെമിനാരിയില്‍ തത്വശാസ്‌ത്ര, ദൈവശാസ്‌ത്ര പഠനങ്ങള്‍ പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കി. ശക്‌തനായവന്‍ എനിക്ക്‌ വലിയ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്‌തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന്‌ എളിമപ്പെടുകയാണ്‌ തന്റെ നിയോഗമെന്ന്‌ ഡീക്കന്‍ ബിജു പറയുന്നു.

പുതിയ വിസയില്‍ വരാന്‍ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്ക്‌ നാട്ടില്‍വച്ചുതന്നെ ഈ പരീക്ഷ എഴുതേണ്ടിവരും. www.tvtv.gov.sa എന്ന വെബ്‌സൈറ്റില്‍ പരീക്ഷയ്‌ക്ക് പേര്‌ രജിസ്‌റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്യാവുന്നതാണ്‌. പരീക്ഷ പാസായശേഷമേ പുതിയ വിസ അനുവദിക്കുകയുള്ളൂ. ഈ പദ്ധതിക്കുള്ള നാമകാരണം ചെയ്‌തിരിക്കുന്നത്‌ 'യുസ്‌ര്‍' എന്നാണ്‌. പരീക്ഷയ്‌ക്ക് തയാറാകുന്നവര്‍ ഫോട്ടോയും വിരലടയാളവും നല്‍കണം. പരീക്ഷയ്‌ക്ക് പേര്‌ രജിസ്‌റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്‌താല്‍ ഏതു കേന്ദ്രത്തിലാണ്‌ പരീക്ഷയ്‌ക്ക് ഹാജരാകുന്നതെന്ന്‌ തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കാനാകും.

Saudi Arabia New Traffic Points System Coming Up
RIYADH – The General Administration of Traffic is to introduce a Traffic Violations Points System next Hijri year (mid November) which could see motorists get suspensions of three months to a year, a lifetime ban and imprisonment.
The points system will be initially enforced in Jeddah and Riyadh, according to a traffic official quoted Saturday in the Arabic press.
Drivers will be given copies of their points record every time they go to the traffic department to pay their fines.
When a driver gets 18 points in one year, his license will be suspended for three months, he will be imprisoned for seven days and fined SR300. If he gets the same number of points a second time in one year, his license will be suspended for six months, he will be jailed for a fortnight, pay a fine of SR600 and attend a rehabilitation program for one week. If a driver commits a third such offense, his license will be suspended for one year, he will be jailed for two weeks, fined SR900 and have to attend rehabilitation classes for two weeks. If a driver gets 18 points a fourth time in one year, he will be banned forever from the Kingdom’s roads.
Points for violations are cancelled at the start of every year.
The traffic official added that drivers will also be awarded special points for driving safely. Two safety points will be awarded for each driver who does not commit a traffic violation in one year. – SG

n Exceeding the speed limit by more than 25 kilometers an hour – 4 points
n Overtaking school buses when they stop to let students get on or get off – 4 points
n Not fastening safety belts – 2 points
n Using mobile phones while driving – 2 points
n Stopping on railway tracks – 6 points
n Transporting uncovered loads – 4 points
n Not stopping completely at stop signals – 6 points

If a driver commits a third such offense, his license will be suspended for one year, he will be jailed for two weeks, fined SR900 and have to attend rehabilitation classes for two weeks. If a driver gets 18 points a fourth time in one year, he will be banned forever from the Kingdom’s roads.
Points for violations are cancelled at the start of every year.
The traffic official added that drivers will also be awarded special points for driving safely. Two safety points will be awarded for each driver who does not commit a traffic violation in one year. – SG

n Not following traffic rules in a roundabout – 6 points
n Exceeding the speed limit by more than 25 kilometers an hour – 4 points
n Overtaking school buses when they stop to let students get on or get off – 4 points
n Not fastening safety belts – 2 points
n Using mobile phones while driving – 2 points
n Stopping on railway tracks – 6 points
n Transporting uncovered loads – 4 points
n Not stopping completely at stop signals – 6 points
